Photo a Day : Day 112 The Scratcher and the Wine Opener
California Lucky Life, today was a long and productive day. Itching to get my hand worked on again this Saturday! It has been a challenge this week working through my retouching files. Best way to describe the feeling in my hand, imagine micro pieces metal shards spreading through the veins around my hand sending pulses of electricity with every tap, movement and change of temperature. It’s an interesting, yet uneasy feeling that Motron or Tylenol can’t fix. It all happened after much retouching over the years, and recently when I picked up some heavy equiptment I twisted my wrist in a weird way. Something clicked in my hand and the birth of this strange new sensation began to grow.
When I was home trying to relax, I went to open a bottle of wine to realize that my wine opener magically disappeared. To my surprise, while making a quick trip to the taco truck in a gas station parking lot, I found a wine opener at the gas station store and grabbed a $5 scratcher.
I’m in Silicone Valley right now, maybe just maybe I might be lucky enough to strike it big with my $5 scratcher and get a new mechanical/bio engineered hand from one of the startups in this area. I can imagine wirelessly typing my keys with my new hand, as I move the pen with my good hand. Random, perhaps but I’m hoping that my acupuncturist is right and a week or two is all I need. She has performed magic and miracles for me in the past! I should have known I’d wear away my hand like I’ve worn the option key on my Macbook pro. If you use the computer a lot I suggest doing a lot of wrist exercise and maybe even wearing a wrist brace for support as a precaution! Concentrating with pain is possible but it sure is nerve racking!
